Korean table manner

 

 

 

   

Hello guys, I would like to tell you Korean food manners who are interested in this part of planning to travel to South Korea in the future. However, I think most manners might be the same as your country. 

 

 

 

1.  Chopsticks manner

As you may know, most Asian countries use chopsticks instead of a fork.  While we are using chopsticks to eat food, we should not play with it. Such as throwing like a baby or use only one chopstick for fun.

 

2. Adults first

In Korea society, age is important while we are living. When we have a meal together, younger people should wait for older people to eat the food first. 

 

3. No noises while eating

This manner might be the same as your country, we should not make smacking noises while eating. 

 

4. Say, 잘먹겠습니다 and 잘먹었습니다.

We use 잘 먹겠습니다 before we have a meal. This is the same meaning as Bon Appetit.

AND we say 잘 먹었습니다 after we finish our meal.  It is the meaning of thank you for your meal.

 

When you say these sentences in Korea while you are traveling in R.O.K, people will love you.
